Universal Investment Group – a European fund services platform – has named Johannes Elsner as its group chief operating and transformation officer, effective February 1, 2024.
Elsner will spearhead the group’s operational activities and processes while driving comprehensive transformation initiatives across the organisation. His appointment follows the decision of Etienne Rougier to step down from the position of chief operating officer.
Previously, Elsner served as the group chief information officer and member of the board of directors at ERGO Technology & Services Management. At ERGO, he held pivotal leadership roles, including chief technology transformation officer and chief transformation officer, focusing on organisational and technological transformations, as well as operational excellence.
Before ERGO, Elsner served as a partner at McKinsey & Company, where he played a key role in the senior leadership team of the German office, specialising in asset management and banking with a focus on efficiency improvements, complexity reduction, operating model designs, and operational transformation programs. He holds first and second state exams from LMU Munich and the High Court of Munich.
Johannes Elsner said he looked forward to “drive transformation and operational efficiency to create long-term value for our clients, employees and shareholders.”
