UK funds suffer outflows across all asset classes

February saw outflows across the board for UK active funds, according to Morningstar data.

The data provider’s UK Fund Flows report for February 2024 showed that the year-to-date pattern of outflows continued.

In fact, it was a negative month for all asset classes, amid a continuing market uncertainty.

UK funds suffered record outflows in 2023 – Pridham Report

The outflows were most pronounced for money market funds which recorded the biggest monthly outflows since June 2023, a reversal from the inflows posted in the second half of 2023.

Equity funds also suffered heavy outflows, losing £748 million in February, while property funds saw £255 in net outflows.

In total, £6.6 billion was withdrawn from active funds, however passive funds recorded £3.2 billion in net inflows during February.
