Titanbay, a private markets investment platform, has appointed Gareth Read as chief operating officer as the firm continues to expand its senior team.
Read will be responsible for Titanbay’s operational infrastructure which includes fund operations and investor services. He will work closely with the technology team to digitise operational processes, as well as further develop the company’s geographical expansion and manage regulatory compliance.
Previously, Read worked as managing director at Barings where he was responsible for developing and managing Barings’ €30 billion European fund infrastructure.
Prior to this, he worked at AshGrove Capital, a growing lower mid-market private credit manager, where he was finance and operations director, responsible for operational, finance, product, compliance, risk and broader support functions. He has also worked at Deloitte in the audit and assurance team.
Thomas Eskebaek, CEO of Titanbay, said: “Gareth brings valuable expertise to our senior team to equip us for the next stage in our growth – namely through geographic expansion and the digitisation of key processes as we scale our operations. I am looking forward to working closely with Gareth to apply his impressive industry credentials to our mission of improving access to private markets.”
Titanbay has continued to expand its senior team. Recent hires include Alex Bozoglou as head of investments, Natalie Thornicroft as head of people and talent and managing directors, Jason Funk, formerly of MetLife, and Paul Bentley, who has worked at Schroders and Allianz Global Investors.
Earlier this year, Titanbay announced it would be partnering with Mercer to provide a private markets solution for wealth managers and private banks.
