Global asset managers Standard Life and Fidelity International are joining forces for the launch of a pension fund product.
The two firms have struck a strategic partnership designed to address what they describe as “the increasing need for product innovation in retirement solutions”.
The Standard Life Smoothed Return Pension Fund is aimed at “advised investors” approaching retirement and looking for investment vehicles that provide some “shelter from the daily uncertainty of investing”, according to a statement issued by the two firms.

Fidelity International expands infrastructure team
Standard Life will bring the fund to market and also provide the fund structure, smoothing, valuation, and supporting capital while also overseeing asset allocation.
Fidelity International will manage the underlying assets and the distribution of the fund via its Fidelity Adviser Solutions platform.
The fund will be piloted with a select group of financial advisers from March 2024 with a full rollout planned for later this year.
