Schroders Capital has launched what it claims is the first long-term asset fund in the UK to be dedicated to renewables and energy transition infrastructure.
The fund will be managed by Schroders Greencoat, the firm’s specialist renewables and energy transition infrastructure manager.
It will look to invest in renewables infrastructure across the UK, US and Europe and, as an LTAF, is targetting the UK’s defined contribution and charities markets.

The fund is also part of Schroders Greencoat’s range of semi-liquid funds for private assets investments.
“With the DC market expected to make material investments into private markets over the coming years, the ability to access dedicated renewable energy and the energy transition exposure is an attractive and highly diversifying potential addition to DC members’ portfolios,” said Tim Horne, head of UK institutional defined contribution at Schroders.
