Northern Trust names Luxembourg head

Asset servicer Northern Trust has appointed Olivier Noël as its country head for Luxembourg and head of its Luxembourg-based asset servicing business.

In addition he will also serve as chief executive of the firm’s EU-based bank Northern Trust Global Services (NTGS) and become a member of its board, pending regulatory approval.

It is a promotion for Noël who first joined Northern Trust as head of its Luxembourg transfer agency function.

Northern Trust bolsters international team

Since then, he has worked in a number of roles, including chief operating officer (COO) of the Luxembourg Global Fund Services business and COO of NTGS since 2020.

Noël will report to Clive Bellows, who was recently named as president of Northern Trust’s EMEA business, succeeding Teresa Parker.

The appointment of Noël also follows Northern Trust securing a mandate from South Africa-based Sanlam Asset Management to provide asset servicing for its Ireland-domiciled funds.
