Northern Trust Asset Management has appointed Christian Roth as chief investment officer of global fixed income.
In this role, Roth will oversee the investment strategy, process and approach for the firm’s fixed income business globally. He will report to global chief investment officer Angelo Manioudakis.

Roth, with over three decades of experience, recently joined from Morgan Stanley Investment Management. His roles since 1999 included chairman of broad markets fixed income in 2023 and leadership positions such as head of multi-sector fixed income, head of global fixed income and credit, and co-head of the global and European fixed income team.
Earlier, Roth worked in fixed income at Miller, Anderson & Sherrerd, and in merchant banking at Dean Witter Capital Corporation. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and is a CFA charter holder.
