Mediolanum AM expands with hires

Ireland’s Mediolanum Asset Management has appointed Brian O’Reilly as head of market strategy, saying it is the latest in a string of appointments in recent months.

O’Reilly, who joins from another Irish asset manager, Davy Asset Management, will manage the asset allocation team that covers all asset classes and forms the investment house view.

At Davy, he was head of investments and chief investment strategist covering multi-asset, private and public equities, smart beta funds and other strategies.

Prior to Davy, he worked variously at UBS Wealth Management in New York and London, UBS Warburg and Goldman Sachs, where he began his career.

O’Reilly will report to Christophe Jaubert, head of investment performance.

The firm said it had made “numerous additions” in the past few months, including David Holohan as head of equity strategy and Astrid Schilo as multi-asset strategist.

Furio Pietribiasi, managing director at the firm, said Mediolanum AM was continuing to invest in “new competencies and expanding the existing expertise”.

The firm is owned by Mediolanum Banking Group and has about €33 billion of assets under management.
