HSBC Global Asset Management has appointed Shamil Pankhania as a credit portfolio manager within the firm’s global bonds team.
Pankhania, who started his career in 2006 at Pimco, joins from BlackRock where he was a global credit portfolio manager, trading corporate bonds and managing a wide variety of portfolios focusing on total return funds.
Based in London, he will report to the firm’s head of global bonds, Ernst Osiander.
Osiander said: “Bringing Shamil into the team is part of an ongoing effort to boost our fixed income capabilities.
“He will help us to ensure our long-term client and growth commitments as we continue to develop our expertise within our Global Fixed Income platform.”
Pankhania holds an MA in physics from Oxford University and an MSc in finance from Cranfield School of Management.
