Former fintech man joins Crestbridge’s funds business

Private equity and real estate administrator Crestbridge has recruited a business development specialist from the London fintech sector.

Aaron Bird joins as associate director in business development covering private equity mid-cap investors and venture capital firms.

Based in Jersey, Crestbridge says Bird has 19 years of experience working with alternative and institutional fund managers across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

He is also a former board member of one of the world’s largest privately owned foreign exchange businesses, Afex, where he was “instrumental” in developing the exchange’s funds business.

Crestbridge said its global funds business has grown by a third in the last year driven mainly by private equity and venture capital fund managers.

Michael Johnson, head of institutional services at Crestbridge, said Bird’s multi-jurisdictional experience in both front and back office fund services would be important for the firm’s growth as it looks to strengthen ties with managers and intermediaries.
