BMO Global Asset Management has appointed Stewart Bennett to the newly-formed position of global head of alternatives.
Bennett will develop the firm’s alternative investments global growth strategy. Based in London, he will report to chief executive Kristi Mitchem.
The new offering incorporates BMO GAM’s “existing private equity, real estate and real estate securities businesses, which will provide investors with a broader range of innovative real asset investment solutions,” according to the business.
Bennett brings with him 25 years’ experience in the investment and private equity world, including ten years as a partner and head of the financial institutions group at Ondra Partners.
“We have significant strengths in direct property investment, real estate securities and private equity, and see alternative investments as a major growth area for the business globally,” said Mitchem.
“Combining our alternatives expertise into one structure will enable us to best meet client demand and drive our growth ambitions.”
