BlueBay launches sovereign/corporate EM bond fund

BlueBay Asset Management has launched an emerging markets bond fund investing in short-dated instruments.

The Luxembourg-domiciled Ucits fund combines emerging market sovereign and corporate debt into one portfolio and consists of hard currency assets trading at a spread over US Treasuries.

Called the BlueBay Emerging Market Aggregate Short Duration Bond Fund, it selects bonds from 58 countries and 13 industry sectors.

Jana Velebova, Anthony Kettle and Polina Kurdyavko manage the fund using a bottom-up research approach at country and company level, as well as “significant” macro input.

BlueBay, which has offices across the globe, has over $60 billion (€54.4 billion) in assets under management.
