La Francaise appoints head of ESG

La Francaise Group, a Paris-based asset manager, has appointed Roland Rott has head of ESG and sustainable research.

In the new role, Butt head’s La Francaise’s multi-asset ESG research activities, including the implementation of ESG strategy.

The firm said it introduced ESG in 2008 and created the multi-asset group – now called La Francaise Sustainable Investment Research (LFSIR) based in London – in 2014.

Butt joined La Francaise in 2016 and will continue to work withLaurent Jacquier-Laforge, global head of sustainable investing and be responsible for ESG data and methodologies, among other tasks.

Butt said: “Over the past couple of years, the LFSIR team has been instrumental in designing ESG investment solutions and has developed a suite of proprietary ESG and climate risk management tools, which we will continue to expand across all asset classes.”

La Française plans to convert its open-ended funds to a 100% sustainable product range by end of 2022.
