A panel of industry experts is set to explore one of the funds industry’s greatest frailties – the onboarding of new customers – in a FundsTech webinar.
The webinar is set to examine how technology can be used to improve the investor experience with a particular focus on the onboarding process.
Despite the progress made in other parts of the investment process, from fund tokenisation to algorithmic trading, the act of getting a new customer up and running on an investment platform is still overly laborious and rife with manual processes.
A panel comprising Richard Rae, senior manager, transitions, demand & design, abrdn; Phil Loveridge, associate director, AML, Aztec Group; Julien Gartner, partner, Arendt Regulatory and Consulting; and Tara Kane, product manager at regtech Fenergo, will discuss how digital technology can improve all aspects of the investor experience.
The onboarding process has become an increasingly important issue for asset managers. The UK’s Investment Association released a white paper at the end of April that it described as a ‘blueprint for fintech engagement and onboarding’.
Meanwhile UK asset manager abrdn has joined fintech Saphyre’s onboarding platform.
In addition, a study commissioned by asset servicer Northern Trust earlier this month stated that asset managers are prioritising the investor experience over cost-cutting.
The webinar will be held on May 30. Interested parties can sign up here.
