Aquila acquires third Danish wind project

Investment manager Aquila Capital has acquired a third Danish windfarm project for its European Renewables Income Fund.

This latest purchase of three turbines completes the acquisition of all turbines associated with the country’s Svindbaek wind farm and helps save over 6,500 tons of carbon dioxide emissions per year, according to the firm, as well as providing 9.6 megawatts of power.

Ian Nolan, chairman of the Renewables Income Fund, said the strategy has begun deploying capital from its recently placed equity issuance.

“Svindbaek II is an operating wind farm that will immediately contribute to the investors’ dividend cover,” he said.
