AllianceBernstein has launched two growth equity funds managed by the same team.
The AB European Growth Portfolio and AB Global Growth Portfolio will be led by Thorsten Winkelmann and a team that joined the firm from Allianz Global Investors in January this year.
The team seeks to benefit from the compounding power of owning shares in structurally growing, high quality companies.
According to the firm, the team has a “distinct collaborative structure and have spent most of their careers together investing in this way”.
Also in the team are Robert Hofmann, Marcus Morris-Eyton, Darina Valkova and Nicolas Gonçalves.
The European fund is an unconstrained high conviction bottom-up portfolio of approximately 40 to 60 mid/large market capitalisation companies, while the global fund will have 50 to 80 mid/large market capitalisation companies.
Both funds will be classed as Article 8 funds under the EU sustainable rules.
Winkelmann said: “The team and I are excited to launch these funds at AllianceBernstein. We have a time-tested philosophy and approach. As a team we have spent most of our careers on these strategies and have proven success in these strategies over time. I believe they complement the current range of AB strategies.”
