Aberdeen Asset Management’s property division has promoted Simon Moscow to become head of asset management for the UK and Stephen Walker as his deputy.
These changes follow the departure of Giles Easter, the current head of asset management, who plans to pursue interests elsewhere in the industry.
Moscow and Walker will lead the team in developing the firm’s UK property business. Moscow will oversee the asset allocations for this part of the business and Walker will support him in his new position while continuing in his role heading up the Edinburgh team.
Moscow and Walker have both worked for Aberdeen since 2008. In his previous role as head of retail asset management in the UK, Moscow has been responsible for a Specialist Retail Parks vehicle and has also overseen the performance of retail assets. Prior to joining Aberdeen, he was an investment director at Prudential Property Investment Managers and was responsible for an out of town retail portfolio.
Walker is currently head of Edinburgh asset management for the UK property team. He has investment and strategic asset management experience gained in both private practice and client side positions, including roles at independent commercial property advisor Ryden, Lloyds TSB Bank and a secondment to the Royal Mail.
Aberdeen Asset Management has property funds under management of approximately £10.5 billion (€15.0 billion) in the UK as at March 31, 2015.
