Wealth manager appoints non-execs

Quilter, a UK wealth management firm, has appointed Paul Matthews and Suresh Kana as independent non-executive directors.

Matthews formerly worked at Standard Life in various roles between 1989 and 2017 before retirement. Roles included group executive director and chief executive officer UK and Europe.

Suresh has worked in various roles at PwC, most recently as chief executive officer and territory senior partner in Africa.

The firm – formerly knowns as Old Mutual Wealth and which recently sold its single-strategy business – made the announcement in its first filing since becoming a listed company.

Assets under management/administration increased 2% from the end of last year to £116.5 billion (€129.5 billion) as a result of positive net flows of £2.2 billion, marginally offset by a weaker overall market performance, the company said.

Adjusted profit before tax was £110 million compared to £95 million in the year-before half.
