UK Pensions Infrastructure Platform appoints investment manager

The UK Pensions Infrastructure Platform (PIP) has appointed Paul Gill as investment manager.

He joins the PIP team from Lloyds Banking Group Asset Management, where he served as an associate director specialising in infrastructure and energy for a decade. In all, he has 16 years’ experience in the infrastructure market.

Gill reports to Ed Wilson, PIP chief investment officer, and will work on a mixture of debt structuring and equity investments.

PIP is the infrastructure investment business that has been developed by pension schemes for pension schemes and is owned by the UK pension fund organisation, Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association (PLSA).

The PIP Multi-Strategy Infrastructure fund invests in UK infrastructure, such as housing, and social infrastructure including hospitals, schools and flood defences.

The fund is open to all UK pension schemes, and has a minimum investment requirement of £1 million (€1.16 million) to allow smaller schemes to participate and achieve the similar scale benefits as larger schemes gain.
