Old Mutual Global Investors (OMGI) is to “relaunch” the Spectrum Funds with better tools to deliver its investment objective.
The Old Mutual Spectrum Funds will become the Old Mutual Creation Portfolios in July 2017.
The firm said the enhancements would provide the portfolio manager, Anthony Gillham, with “greater flexibility and additional tools with which to deliver the portfolios’ investment objectives”.
The firm believes that the risk-targeted portfolios will be able to achieve more consistent investment returns over the medium to long term.
Fees will be reduced and clients will get the option to invest in a portfolio at the higher end of the risk appetite scale.
OMGI said the Creation portfolios have been designed based on research among clients on the portfolio characteristics most valuable to them. The move is also in response for outcome-orientated solutions that aim to generate returns commensurate with risk, OMGI said.
The firm also said the development of the Creation funds was part of the evolution of its multi-asset range that has been underway since Old Mutual Wealth, which owns OMGI, created a multi-asset unit in October 2015.
