NN IP hires emerging market debt portfolio manager

NN Investment Partners (NN IP) has appointed Yvette Babb portfolio manager in its emerging market debt (EMD) boutique.

Babb joins NN IP in the newly-created position from JP Morgan, based in London, where she was chief economist and strategist for sub-Saharan Africa.

She will focus on frontier market analysis and portfolio management (both hard currency and local currency) and will work alongside Marco Ruijer, lead portfolio manager EMD hard currency and lead portfolio manager frontier market debt, and Lewis Jones, lead portfolio manager EMD local currency.

Marcelo Assalin, head of EMD at NN Investment Partners said the appointment emphasised the growing importance of the debt in the emerging markets universe and the role NN IP wants to play in the space.

NN IP’s EMD boutique has approximately $10 billion (€8.1 billion) in assets under management.
