Kempen Capital Management has appointed Narina Mnatsakanian as director of impact and responsible investment.
The role is new as Kempen, a Dutch asset manager, says its is strengthening its commitment to environmental, social and governance (ESG) investing.
Kempen said Mnatsakanian is “one of the leading voices in the responsible investment space”, having worked for over a decade in the sector.
Her most recent role was as Sarona Asset Management, a private equity firm that focuses on investing in emerging markets for returns and positive impact.
She has also worked for UNPRI – the United Nations-supported Principles for Responsible Investment – where she developed global responsible investment best practices. There also she helped to build local investor networks around the world and assisted signatories in embedding the UNPRI into their investment process.
Erik Luttenberg, managing director and chairman of the ESG council at Kempen, said: “Her appointment further cements Kempen’s longstanding commitment to responsible investment. Narina’s extensive experience within this space, particularly among institutional investors, will be key in leading this initiative forward.”
Mnatsakanian joins Kempen on June 1.
