DWS creates UK and Ireland insurance role

German fund manager DWS has hired Peter McGloughlin to the newly-created role of head of UK and Ireland insurance.

Based in London, he forms part of DWS’ plan to increase its presence in the insurance market.

Prior to joining the firm, McGoughlin was most recently managing director at boutique private credit consultant Eatonville Capital Partners.

Other roles include executive director of UK insurance and pensions solutions at BNP Paribas.

He has also worked as director of insurance solutions at Lloyds Banking Group where he was part of the financial institutions team covering insurance, pensions, and financial sponsors.

According to DWS, he has a strong track record in the domestic insurance market.

The firm has also appointed Clara Fiedrich as a specialist covering the German insurance sector.
