Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM) has appointed Michael Marks from BlackRock as chief operating officer.
Marks will replace Robert Moore, who was promoted to chief executive of LGIM’s American business. Marks will work under LGIM chief executive Mark Zinkula, and joins the firm at the end of this month.
Marks spent 28 years at BlackRock, where he held roles such as head of BlackRock Solutions for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (Emea) and chief operating officer for BlackRock’s fiduciary management arm. Most recently, he was co-head of client solutions, Emea.
Prior to joining BlackRock he worked as global head of transition management at Merrill Lynch.
LGIM manages assets of £746 billion (€953.8 billion), as of December 31 2015.
