Top50 asset managers revealed

In a recent collaboration between Funds Europe and Monterey Insight, the ‘Top50 Asset Managers’ list has been unveiled, spotlighting the top performing of the asset management industry based on their 2022 AUM growth.

Asset Under Management (AUM) has been classified across three distinct brackets: those exceeding €100 billion, those between €20 billion and €100 billion, and those below €20 billion.

Asset managers with assets exceeding €100 billion include Allianz Global Investors, Abrdn, UBS and Vanguard. Firms with assets ranging from €20 billion to €100 billion and those below €20 billion showcased their influence and agility, respectively.

This revelation comes as the industry acknowledges the potential of emerging economies with growing middle-class populations, representing untapped opportunities for asset managers.

Concurrently, the digitisation of platforms has expanded investment fund access globally, with ESG considerations becoming pivotal in financial planning.

However, challenges persist, with passive strategies affecting active managers and private market allocations reshaping competitive dynamics.
