SYZ Asset Management opens Madrid office

SYZ Asset Management, the institutional asset management arm of Geneva’s SYZ Group, has opened an office in Madrid as part of an ongoing European expansion.

Luis Beltrami Cruz, who joined the group in April 2014 as director of institutional sales, has been appointed as branch manager.

The Madrid office will distribute SYZ Asset Management’s Oyster Sicav sub-funds in Spain as well as discretionary mandates for professional clients.

Katia Coudray, chief executive of SYZ Asset Management, said Spain has a well-established fund market that has been “growing strongly” with an increasing appetite for innovative solutions.

The expansion follows the hiring of Pierre Seydel as SYZ’s Benelux regional head and Nico Cacciabue’s appointment as head of key accounts in May.

The firm also opened branches in Munich and Milan last year.
