Swiss & Global unveils emerging market bond fund

Swiss & Global Asset Management has launched an emerging market investment grade bond fund.

The portfolio of the JB Emerging Markets Investment Grade Bond Fund is currently overweight Central and Eastern Europe, while underweight Latin America, Asia and Africa.

Enzo Puntillo, head fixed income emerging markets, is the lead manager on the fund.

In recent years, the emerging market investment grade universe has grown substantially and credit ratings have improved.

The Swiss asset manager says up to 60% of the traditional emerging market bond universe, as defined by the JP Morgan EMBI Global Index, are of investment grade quality.

“Emerging market investment grade bonds offer yields of around 3.4%, an attractive level considering the current environment of low nominal and negative real yields,” Puntillo says.
