Russell appoints Van Luu for currency and fixed income focus

Russell Investments has appointed Van Luu in the newly created role of head of currency and fixed income strategy.

Luu will be based in London and will report to Andrew Pease, global head of investment strategy. He will contribute to recommendations for portfolio positioning, which are provided by the investment strategy team.

Luu will also have responsibility for formulating Russell’s views on the outlook for currency pairs, and will work with the currency management and trading business to develop the currency-hedging solutions used by Russell Investments’ funds and clients.

Luu had previously spent three years as a senior analyst in the global strategy team at Russell Investments, but left the firm to join Norges Bank Investment Management as a senior analyst for investment policy and allocation strategies.

Christophe Caspar, chief investment officer for multi asset solutions at Russell Investments, says Luu’s currency expertise will be important in providing investment views that help to ensure the multi-asset space meets clients’ needs.

Russell Investments has over $272 billion (€241.3 billion) in assets under management, as of March 31, 2015.
