US fixed income manager Pimco is hoping to attract more UK clients by offering two of its funds on Skandia’s UK investment platform.
Pimco’s Select Global Bond Fund, managed by Scott Mather, offers investors exposure to global fixed income, while the Select UK Corporate Bond Fund, managed by Luke Spajic, invests in corporate and credit.
It is Pimco’s second distribution deal targeting UK clients, and follows an agreement last September to offer the two funds on Aegon’s investment platform. Pimco recently expanded the Select range by adding the Select UK Income Bond Fund managed by Mike Amey, and says it expects to add more in future.
The two Skandia funds pursue the same strategy as those available on Pimco’s Global Investor Series (GIS) platform, based in Dublin. Pimco says the GIS counterpart of the Select Global Bond Fund returned 9.28% last year, while the GIS UK Corporate Bond Fund returned 10.56%.
