Real estate fund manager Orchard Street has named Kathryn Barber as head of responsibility and ESG.
Barber will be expected to help bolster Orchard Street’s credentials as a responsible investor.
A key component in this aim is the firm’s inaugural impact fund as well as the Orchard Street Social and Environmental Impact Partnership.

Barber joins from UK-based asset manager Great Portland Estate where she was sustainability lead, portfolio and social impact.
She replaces Lora Brill who has left the company to pursue other opportunities but will continue to work with Orchard Street on a consulting basis.
“Responsible and impactful investing is at the heart of what we do at Orchard Street, whether that’s through decarbonising existing buildings, investing in local communities or thinking about how we design or upgrade amenity-rich buildings to increase wellness and productivity,” said Barney Rowe, partner at Orchard Street and portfolio manager for the Impact fund.
“Now, more than ever, it is imperative that industry leaders understand their role in pushing boundaries to deliver long-term responsible returns through a careful alignment of ESG risks and opportunities,” said Barber.
