Nils Bolmstrand to head Nordea Asset Management

Sweden-based Nordea Asset Management, one of the largest asset managers in the Nordics, has appointed Nils Bolmstrand as its chief.

Bolmstrand replaces former head Christian Hyldhl, who left the firm earlier this year.

Bolmstrand currently heads up Nordea Life & Pensions and has previously held managerial positions within Nordea Asset Management and the asset management division of Skandia and Old Mutual. He starts in the new position on January 1, 2017.

According to the firm, Nordea Asset Management has the top selling products of any asset manager in Europe year-to-date, and has been among the top ten during each of the last four years.

Nordea had €215 billion of assets under management at the end of the third quarter of 2016, while its parent company, Nordea, had €313 billion.

Snorre Storset, head of Nordea Wealth Management, said: “`Nils has the competencies and experience within the asset management business, and he has strong leadership and personal skills.”
