Jeremy Tubiana has been brought in to head up ETF and index solutions development at BNP Paribas Asset Management – the company where he started his career as a sales assistant.
He will focus on French-speaking regions with a remit to consolidate trading activities with institutional clients and distributors.
The Paris Dauphine University graduate has forged a successful career in the ETF space after cutting his teeth with the French banking giant.
Tubiana began his career at BNP Paribas as a sales assistant in the Privalto and then Harewood Asset Management teams, which is now BNPP AM.
His new boss Lorraine Sereyjol-Garros, global head of ETF and index solutions development at BNPP AM, is thrilled to have him back on board.
She said: “Jeremy will bring his vast experience to the team.
“He will accelerate our commercial capabilities in our key markets, where the attraction for ETFs and index funds has not ceased to develop in recent years.”
Tubiana will be based at the company’s HQ in Paris as he looks to progress in the France, Belgium, Monaco, Luxembourg and Switzerland markets.
He was previously a manager and sales representative for French investment management company C&M Finances.
He has also been in charge of the development of the ETF offering for Paris-based Lyxor Asset Management.
Tubiana arrived at BNP after six years with French asset managers Amundi, where he helped develop its offering with financial advisers, online banks and robo-advisers.
The appointment comes after BNPP AM launched its Easy ESG Eurozone Biodiversity Leaders PAB UCITS ETF last month.
Earlier this year, the firm hired Olivier Laplenie as head of quantitative portfolio management to succeed Isabelle Bourcier, who left in March.
The group also made two more recruitments for its sales team in April as it looks to expand its ETF business in Germany.
