Muzinich & Co, the traditional fixed income specialist asset manager, has raised €342 million in its latest trance of funding for a private debt fund.
The money was raised in the third close of the Muzinich Pan-European II Private Debt Fund which focuses on lower middle-market companies.
The Fund follows on from the €706.5 million closing of the firm’s first pan-European private debt fund in 2018.
Rafael Torres (pictured), co-head of private debt in Europe, said that the aftermath of Covid-19 would see many European businesses affected by the pandemic requiring flexible financing solutions.
Muzinich – founded in 1988 by George Muzinch (interviewed here in 2019) – entered the private debt market in 2014 and has 37 investment professionals globally and around US$1.1 billion in invested capit
