Liontrust has appointed Chris Foster as fund manager for three of its sustainable equity funds.
Foster is no stranger to the London-based boutique’s sustainability workings, having joined the team as an analyst back in 2013.
He joins lead manager Simon Clements and Peter Michaelis, head of sustainable investment, in managing three growth funds.
Liontrust’s 14-strong sustainable investment team recently stepped up engagement with companies to ensure they reduce their absolute carbon emissions to zero, it has announced.
Companies that fail to reduce their emissions, the firm has said, risk becoming less profitable and attractive in the future.
According to the fund house, its sustainability funds have been experiencing strong inflows, with assets under management reaching £5.1 billion (€5.8 billion) as of the end of last year.
The firm – which has recently acquired rival Neptune Investment Management – also added to its sustainable investment team last November with the appointment of Martyn Jones as fund manager.
