Dublin-based KBI Global Investors has won a slew of new mandates as investor demand for funds investing in companies providing solutions to sustainability challenges continues.
The firm’s Global Sustainable Infrastructure strategy was chosen for inclusion in Northern Trust’s multi-manager infrastructure mutual fund and for distribution to its institutional outsourced chief investment officer (OCIO) clients in North America, according to KBIGI.
Sun Life Global Investments (Canada) and The Government of Guam Retirement Fund also chose to invest in the strategy. It invests in publicly-listed, sustainable infrastructure companies delivering strong returns within a “robust risk framework”.
The portfolio provides exposure to diverse water and clean energy infrastructure, food storage and transportation and farmland.
Elsewhere, Ireland-based Mediolanum International Funds chose the firm to co-manage its newly- launched Circular Opportunities strategy for distribution in Italy. The fund targets companies that contribute to the transition towards a sustainable circular economy.
Sean Hawkshaw, CEO at KBIGI, said: “Investor mindsets are changing, and the pace is picking up as awareness of natural resources challenges and climate change come to the top of the agenda.
“We have been working for our clients for more than 20 years to identify compelling opportunities where they can earn good returns by investing in quality companies that provide solutions to these challenges, have a positive impact on society and the environment, and ultimately drive the transition to a more sustainable economy.”
