Kasraie hails Mayfair Capital’s “competitive advantage”

Mayfair Capital’s newly-recruited senior portfolio manager Amirali Kasraie believes they have a “distinct competitive advantage” with their European Thematic Income & Growth Fund (TIGR).

Kasraie was hired by the Swiss Life-owned specialist UK real estate investment manager this month to lead their pan-continental investment programme.

He will be based in London and oversee the performance of the TIGR, which was launched three years ago to help build upon the company’s strong presence in the German, French and British markets.

Kasraie says the fund’s relatively young age can be one of its biggest strengths in the years to come.

He explained: “While we are undoubtedly entering a challenging period for European real estate, the portfolio remains resilient and well-placed to deliver robust risk-adjusted returns for our investors.

“At a time when yields are softening materially, the relative infancy of TIGR provides us with a distinct competitive advantage to focus on rapidly evolving occupier trends.

“And as we continue to grow and diversify it across countries and sectors, thorough assessment of fundamentals and ESG criteria on a case-by-case basis will be more crucial than ever before to generate long-term, sustainable value.”

Kasraie joined Mayfair after a 16-year tenure with Patrizia, which was formerly Rockspring Property Investment Managers.

He was fund manager for its flagship pan-European core balanced vehicle and oversaw its closed-end value-add portfolio invested across northern, western and southern Europe. He also led the liquidation of a complex specialist fund.

Mayfair Capital CEO Giles King said: “Amirali has a deep knowledge of the industry and brings a wealth of experience to help advance the TIGR strategy.

“Swiss Life is well positioned to deliver a compelling proposition for investors entering or expanding into the European real estate market.

“I look forward to working with Amirali as we seek to build on Swiss Life’s 120-year real estate investment heritage.”
