Brown Advisory launches Sustainable International Leaders strategy

Investment management firm Brown Advisory has unveiled the Sustainable International Leaders Strategy (BISLX), a new addition to its global equity franchise.

The strategy will invest in companies outside of the US that Brown Advisory considers leaders in their sector or country and with “sound ESG risk management practices and sustainable business advantages”.

The strategy is set to provide clients with existing exposure to US equities with an option to invest in equities globally. It will be available to global clients as a separate account mandate.

It will invest in 25 to 35 companies in both developed and emerging equity markets that have a market capitalisation above $2 billion.

The strategy aims to outperform the FTSE All-World ex-US Index, while generating a positive social and environmental impact.

Priyanka Agnihotri, based in London and with more than 10 years’ experience in global equity investment research roles, will be the sole portfolio manager of the Sustainable International Leaders strategy.

The strategy joins Brown Advisory’s Global Leaders and Global Focus strategies as part of its global equity franchise and will build on the investment philosophy of the Global Leaders strategy.

Mick Dillon, partner and portfolio manager of Brown Advisory’s Global Leaders Strategy, said: “I’m excited to see our global equity franchise continue to expand with the launch of Sustainable International Leaders.

“Priyanka has been a tremendous contributor to our strategies and team since the outset, and I am thrilled she is leading our efforts in the international segment of the market. I strongly believe that adding the focus on global companies ex-US will provide another perspective to our global equity team, that will ultimately strengthen all of the franchise.”
