BNPP AM adds four to private debt and real assets team

BNP Paribas Asset Management (BNPP AM) has made four appointments to new roles in its private debt and real assets investment division.

Taking up the role of chief investment officer for infrastructure debt is Stéphanie Passet who reports to Karen Azoulat, head of infrastructure debt. 

BNPP AM said that Passet has “considerable” experience across international infrastructure debt origination and structuring. She was previously based at Credit Agricole CIB, most recently as executive director of infrastrucure capital markets.

Romain Linot, formerly of Aviva Investors, has been hired as chief investment officer of real estate debt, reporting to Christophe Montcerisier, who heads the team. At Aviva, Linot was head of real estate finance for continental Europe. 

The structured finance team has also appointed Mohamed El Jani from within the company as investment director. Reporting to Michel Fryszman, head of structured finance, he will help develop the team’s securitisation and private portfolios. 

Lastly, Irene Bárcena has joined the SME [small and medium enterprises] lending team as an analyst, reporting to Christophe Carrasco, head of SME lending. In addition to her credit analysis and portfolio management responsibilities, Bárcena will help to develop origination capabilities in Spain.

David Bouchoucha, head of private debt & real assets at BNP Paribas Asset Management, said: “Private debt and real assets have become essential components of investors’ asset allocation, as they ensure stable income and diversification of credit exposure.”

All four appointments are based in Paris.
