Irish asset manager Mediolanum International Funds has hired from Allianz Global Investors for a senior multi-management role.
Giorgio Carlino has been hired as head of multi-management and will become responsible for the €49 billion firm’s manager selection team and multi-manager portfolio management team.
Based in Dublin, he will report to the firm’s CIO, Christophe Jaubert, and be part of the firm’s investment committee.
Joining from Allianz Global Investors, Carlino held several roles at the firm and was most recently global CIO of multi-asset strategies.
Prior to this, he held roles at Commerzbank and RAS Asset Management.
He succeeds Bish Limbu, who will continue to serve as an adviser to the team.
“I am delighted Giorgio will join our team in Dublin as he will be instrumental to the firm’s next phase in our growth,” said Jaubert.
“Giorgio brings an impressive performance track record across different strategies, and we will greatly benefit from his investment expertise and knowledge.”
At the same time, Mediolanum has promoted Jason Samons within the team to head of manager research. He will report to Carlino.
Samons replaces Inma Conde who is adopting the newly created role of head of ESG.
