Lombard Odier Investment Managers (LOIM) is launching an equities strategy related to carbon transition.
The Climate Transition strategy will invest in companies that are already generating “superior” returns and that the firm believes are well-positioned to generate growth and market share as the transition to a carbon-constrained economy continues.
Hubert Keller, managing partner of Lombard Odier Group and CEO of LOIM, said: “We are in the midst of a massive wholesale transformation towards a sustainable net-zero economy.
“Investors have trillions at stake in this climate transition, which we believe will create significant value and fundamentally shape portfolio outcomes in the years to come.”
The strategy seeks to invest in companies offering improvements in energy efficiency and also in renewable energy projects. It will also purposefully target companies within carbon-intensive industries that are fundamental to economic growth – but which are transitioning to practices consistent with a net-zero carbon ambition.
