Ireland has established itself as a prominent player in European ESG investing, with ESG products now accounting for over €1.2 trillion in assets under management (AUM), representing 31% of all AUM in the country.
This was a key focus at the Irish Funds 10th Annual UK Symposium.
The total number of Irish domiciled funds has reached 8,766, with the country holding nearly 6% of global investment fund assets, totalling €3.9 trillion.
The Irish market leads in Ucits funds and ETFs, with ETFs comprising 70% of the European market.
The Symposium also covered topics like AI, digitalisation and the role of alternative investments.
Pat Lardner, CEO of Irish Funds, said, “By continually developing our capabilities, innovating and adapting, the funds and asset management industry in Ireland is helping address the challenges facing investors and the wider society in which it operates. The rapid growth of ESG products, accounting now for 31% of all assets under management, is clear evidence of this.
“Additionally, the Irish Government’s Funds Sector 2030 Review demonstrates its commitment to enhancing the sector’s ability to meet the needs of global investors and the investment managers who look to Ireland as a trusted partner with a breadth of expertise and widening capability.”
