S&P Dow Jones Indices (SPDJI), a provider of indices including the S&P 500, is to join a group of ETF firms that are marketing exchange-traded products to financial advisers.
SPDJI will join the ETF Forum for its second series of adviser roadshows later this year.
The Forum, which aims to educate financial advisers about ETFs, consists of BMO Global Asset Management, ETF Securities, WisdomTree and the London Stock Exchange.
Nizam Hamid, WisdomTree ETF strategist and spokesman for the ETF Forum, said SPDJI will try to provide a perspective on the adoption of index-based solutions worldwide and will discuss how their experience with US-based advisers can be applied in the UK.
Hamid added: “S&PDJI is known for its market-leading indices and we hope their focus in this area will help advisers understand and develop ETF usage.”
According to Hamid, nearly three-quarters of attendees at last year’s roadshow said the ETF Forum had changed their desire to include ETFs in client portfolios, and almost 90% said they anticipated using lower cost funds for their clients in the next two years.
Mark Weekes, the CEO of ETF Securities, recently told Funds Europe that last year’s roadshow reached 200 advisers across 18 cities.
Dates for this year’s roadshow can be found here.
