HSBC GAM appoints Rachida Mourahib to ESG bond role

HSBC Global Asset Management has appointed Rachida Mourahib as head of fixed income ESG and green research as the firm moves to integrate ESG deeper into bond investing.

The Paris-based job is within HSBC GAM’s global credit research team and Mourahib was already within the firm working as an analyst covering equities and bonds issued by pharmaceutical companies and local authorities.

Mourahib joined HSBC GAM in 2006, originally as an ESG researcher, and previously worked in an ESG role at BNP Paribas Asset Management.

Reporting to Tina Radovic, global head of credit research, the role also means contributing to the firm’s global ESG research efforts headed by Xavier Desmadryl, global head of ESG research.

The firm said the appointment followed the successful close of the HSBC Real Economy Green Investment Opportunity GEM Bond Fund in partnership with the International Finance Corporation, part of the World Bank Group.
