Henderson hires chief investment officer from UBS

Henderson Global Investors has hired the global head of fixed income at UBS Global Asset Management, Rob Gambi, as its chief investment officer, starting in the new year.

Henderson says Gambi will help develop the company’s international operations, particularly in the United States and Asia. Henderson chief executive, Andrew Formica, says Gambi’s experience with global teams was an asset.

“His role at UBS incorporated managing teams spread throughout the globe with members of his team in the UK, continental Europe, Asia, Australia and America,” says Formica. “His global knowledge is a critical attraction to us as we continue the development of our international businesses including a greater number of our investment professionals residing in locations outside of our London office.”

Henderson Global Investors had £68 billion (€80 billion) under management at the end of June. In his role at UBS Global Asset Management, Gambi oversaw more than $230 billion (€170 billion) in assets.
