Gresham appoints Gardner to forestry role

Gresham House, a specialist investment manager, has appointed David Gardner as investment director for its forestry division.

Gardner joins from Global Forest Partners, a US-based timberland investment management firm where he was a partner and Asia director of investments for ten years. Prior to this, he held senior roles at Pӧyry Management Consulting in the forest industry division.

In this new role, Gardner’s primary responsibility will be leading the international expansion of the business, reporting to Olly Hughes, managing director of the division.

Hughes said: “As a long-term, diversifying, stable asset class, forestry is one of the most exciting areas of growth among our real assets portfolio.”

Gresham House is one the UK’s largest commercial forestry managers, harvesting approximately 10% annually of the country’s softwood.
