Franklin Templeton Investments is to look for a new person to head UK business after Ian Wilkins, who is a senior director and current UK country head, departs on December 8.
Alex Brotherston, head of retail sales, and Jill Barber, head of institutional, will lead the company’s UK distribution teams on an interim basis. Vivek Kudva, who’s Europe, Middle East and Africa managing director, will manage the UK division until a replacement is found.
The firm will consider both internal and external candidates. The UK remains a “key market” for Franklin Templeton and efforts to cultivate the firm’s footprint in the country will continue, it said.
Wilkins is said to be pursuing new opportunities elsewhere. He joined the firm in 2000.
A spokesperson for Franklin Templeton said that Wilkins’ departure would not cause disruption to Franklin Templeton’s UK clients.
Elsewhere, the firm has promoted veteran Michel Tulle to chief of its southern Europe and Benelux business. His role will commence in January next year. He will report to Kudva and be responsible for developing the company’s business in Italy, France, Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.
