Fund manager Standard Life Investments has appointed Gerry Fowler in the newly created role of investment director, idea generation, within the multi asset investment (MAI) team.
Fowler will be part of a team of 57 providing idea generation, investment recommendations and detailed implementation strategies for the firm’s range of MAI funds. He will report directly to Guy Stern, executive director of multi-asset and macro investing.
Prior to joining Standard Life Investments, Fowler held the role of global head of equity and derivatives strategy with BNP Paribas.
He has also worked for the institutional clients group at Citi as global head for equity research strategy, Europe the Middle East and Africa head for equity derivative strategy and as a strategist for portfolio trading and derivatives.
Commenting on the appointment, Guy Stern says: “Over the last 18 months we have launched four new multi asset products, the team is well resourced and we have excellent collaboration across all the fund management teams globally supporting the long term performance of our funds.”
Standard Life Investments has assets under management of £258.4 billion (€364.2 billion), as at March 31, 2015.
