Epoch launches Ucits version of US ‘shareholder yield’ fund

America’s Epoch Investment Partners has launched a Ucits version of a US dividend strategy.

Epoch said “continued demand” from European investors was behind the creation of the sub-fund for the firm’s US equity ‘shareholder yield strategy’.

The long-only equity strategy aims to achieve the bulk of its total return from dividends, share buybacks and debt reduction.

“This is an attractive way to invest in US stocks that are returning cash to shareholders since buybacks in that market are nearly as important as dividends,” said Peter Curry, UK and Europe client relations director at the firm.

Epoch said the strategy aims for an above-average level of income by investing in US companies with “strong and growing” free cash flow.
