Eaton Vance appoints new business development head

Eaton Vance Management International has appointed Tjalling Halbertsma as managing director in its business development division.

Halbertsma will oversee existing and new business development globally for the firm across Europe, the Middle East, Africa (Emea), Asia, Latin America and Australia.

His role will include the overall management of sales, client service and marketing activities, as well as work collaboratively with the London-based investment teams on strategic planning and product development.

He joins the firm from Nuveen Investments. He spent four years at the firm, most recently as head of Emea, managing a team covering a range of markets focused on leveraged loans, US and global equities and US fixed income for institutional clients. Prior to Nuveen, he worked as managing director at Man Group, and in equity sales for Morgan Stanley and for UBS Investment Bank.

Eaton Vance manages assets of $318.7 billion (€286 billion) internationally as of April 30 2016.
