Ciarán Barr to leave RPMI

Ciarán Barr, investment director at RPMI, the investment manager of the UK’s Railway Pension Scheme, will leave the company during the first half of 2018. The company has not yet decided on his replacement.

A spokesperson for RPMI said that succession planning was “well underway”.

Barr’s future plans are not known, though the spokesperson said: “Ciarán has no firm plans at the current time.”

Barr joined RPMI in 2009. During his time with the company he has held a number of positions, including head of strategy and investment director.

The company said Barr had made important contributions to the investment strategy, design and architecture used by the £28 billion (€31.7 billion) Railways Pension Scheme, including the launch of the multi-asset Growth Pooled Fund in 2010.
